It was a multitasking Operating System developed by IBM, intended to be a competitive offering to MS Windows 3.0. It never really caught on.

It's an operating system kind of like Windows or Linux. However, you dont hear about it a lot nowadays and it's not worth loading it into your computer. You will not find many applications that run on OS2.
