I'm not sure, but I think that they can shorten the leg bones. Why would someone want to do that to themselves it would be painful and if there are complications perhaps they wouldn't be able to walk again. Tell her to be proud of herself for who she is. We can't always change things physically in life but we can change our attitudes.
